As from 2/9/15 GB3HD is set to AMS on input and output

GB3HD is now using the YAESU DR-1X  digital/conventional FM dual mode repeater, output power is 11.5 dBW into a folded dipole at 12 meters above ground, (see coverage map) by using the DR-1X repeater this will provides continued use of conventional FM communication while integrating the use of digital communication functions through its unique AMS capability.

So that both can coexist side by side some basic rules must be followed.

Using a Yaesu Fusion radio.
Make sure that your Yaesu Fusion radios firmware is up to date, set the radio to AMS (automatic mode select) if the repeater is in use by someone on FM your radio will automatically switch to FM, and when using the repeater leave a  gap between overs, this will allow people with FM only radios to call in.

Using conventional analogue FM radios.
Set your radio to use CTCSS (sub-audible tones) on transmit and receive, so that you do not hear the digital noise, when making a call, check to see if the repeater is in use, do this by observing the busy LED or the signal meter, if all is clear make your call, if the repeater is in use on digital and you wish to call in, wait for a gap and make your call, the repeater will switch to FM and also the Yaesu Fusion radios.
